STC Acoustical Consulting LTD. reviewed the design of the demising walls in order to determine their Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating. The Reverberation Time (RT) in areas (e.g. Hold rooms and check‐in halls), where this factor would affect the Speech Intelligibility (SI) of the Public Address system, was calculated. The acoustical environment of pre-board screening (PBS) and Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) areas was reviewed and recommendations were provided in order to meet with Space and Facility requirements, requested by the client. Recommendations were provided for the rooms’ surface finishes in the affected areas, as well as for the demising walls, to achieve optimal acoustical quality within the spaces and to conform to Space and Facility requirements, requested by the client. All mechanical equipment, duct work, and connections were reviewed to evaluate equivalent noise level within noise sensitive areas (e.g. holdrooms). Vibration isolations on the mechanical equipment were reviewed and required recommendations for design revisions with respect to the locations of the units were provided.
